Our Mission
In close collaboration with other units of the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR), and with research administration personnel in colleges and departments, the Faculty Research Development Office (FRDO) strengthens the impact of UNM’s research portfolio by facilitating proposal development and bolstering faculty research, scholarship, and creative activity to increase the diversity, quality, volume, and success rates of external funding proposals.
FRDO's programs, activities, and priorities are driven by four strategic pillars: 1) supporting diverse PIs at various stages of their research journey to develop and achieve goals related to their research, scholarship, and creative activity, with an emphasis on funding such activities; 2) providing resources and training to reduce barriers to proposal development; 3) clearly communicating our mission and role with the UNM research community; and 4) ensuring the sustainability and well-being of our office and staff.
