Scholars Award

  • Deadline - July 6, 2017 at 3:00 PM EST
  • Who is Eligible? 
    • Applicant received his/her terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) within seven years of submitting the application.
      • For Ph.Ds this is the date the doctoral degree was conferred.
      • In medicine, the seven-year maximum is dated from the completion of the first residency.
    • Applicants must be nominated by their institutions.
      • The chairperson of the nominating college or division is responsible for submitting the nominating statement. The nominating person is usually the dean.
    • Be employed by a nonprofit organization in a tenure track or equivalent position. 
  • What is the budget and duration?
    • up to $350,000 for 5 years

    • The sponsor funds research that increases understanding in one of their two focus areas:
    • Proposals must be submitted by tax-exempt organizations
    • Applicants can apply for the Scholars’ award if they already have a career development award
